Two trailer tips
 

Here are a couple tips thought I might share- not earth shattering, but maybe they help someone

1- Although I could back my boat trailer down our slightly curvy driveway well in the daylight, it was difficult at night, as it was not well lighted and the white backup portion of my trailer lights are helpful, but still not enough. I made four 4” x 4” x 6” wood blocks with a large reflector attached at the end of the block. When we return from the lake after dark, I put the reflectors where needed to back in much more easily and without frustration.
2- My 20’ Seafari nearly always loads on the Hitchhiker trailer perfectly well centered. But on occasion no, perhaps due to a stiff cross wind or sand on one side of the ramp. My wife, Anita, always drives the boat onto the trailer and is still in it during the final stages of pulling the trailer out of the water. I found a rectangular block of dense foam that was just the right thickness and tied a string to it so it is less likely to get dropped in the drink. As I pull out of the ramp and the stern is starting to settle down onto the bunks, Anita stands in the stern and pulls the boat towards one of the vertical trailer guides until the foam is trapped between the upright and rub rail. It has worked perfectly every time.

I do the exact same thing with my hitchhiker for my 23 Sceptre!
The addition of a dangling block of foam would make it foolproof though.
