Re: Engine Brackets, Pros and Cons

What a fantastic rebuild. Thanks for sharing it with us and showing how it is done by a professional.

Re: BlueFin Tuna Fishing on a 23 SeaCraft

Fantastic photos of a great day. Photos like these are a real morale booster. Thanks.

Incidentally, with the load on board and all the running you did, how much fuel did you go through?

But why...

Re: it will help if you can't count...

Guys, I love this forum, the community, and the openess everyone exhibits. (Vezo, you're so right, 14 PBRs a day can take over a guy's life but it is really so easy to quit once you get scared.)...

Re: Solid pilothouse design

Nice thread on pilot houses. The Maine Boat Building Show in March in Portland might be a source of good ideas and contacts, etc. Nice people, low key atmosphere, like no other boat show in the world...

Re: Solid pilothouse design

You know, there was a guy on the Cape, Bob Reynolds, that built a nice commercial center console for a number of years in Chatham or Orleans called the FibFab. Some had small pilot houses for the...

Re: Our 1979 23 Seacraft (more pics)

Seamaster, is that a Sea Craft console or did you have it made? It looks good.

Re: Solid pilothouse design

I've seen some of these on center consoles in ME and they look sharp. I think you could put a "West Coast" windshield (the bottom is tilted in) on it to cut down on glare. You would still have room...

Re: My 23

Fantastic looking boat. Really nice. Could you give us an equipment list (maybe even with the rationale for each) and tell us what you did to the hull?

Bottoms Up

Just got back from a trip to downeast Me. I checked out center console hull designs as I headed up Rt. 1 and found it interesting. Like lots of people on Cape Cod and further south, recreational...

Re: Self-Bailing Deck Question

As you can tell, I'm new to the forum and Seacraft. So, let me ask, what ever happened to old fashioned scuppers in the stern? You know, those nice rectangular holes in the stern that get rid of all...

Re: What trim tabs for 1977 23' CC?

Thanks for the patient response to a newbie, Capt_Chuck. Now, what the heck are bat wings?

Re: What trim tabs for 1977 23' CC?

Capt__Chuck, great photo and great boat. You mentioned having transom work done. I notice a lot of SC owners have put in solid transoms with a bracket. If you had a "soft" open transom could you get...

Fuel TankCoating

I think I read on another forum recently (ClassicMako.com?) that in replacing fuel tanks you should coat the alum tank with "cold tar epoxy". While I don't know what that is (and wouldn't know where...

Re: Paint Price

I have seen a 26' Seaway on Block Island that has as two part exterior green paint job put on by a roller. Outside, in the gravel parking lot at the Hog Pen! The resulting job looks fine to my eye....

Re: Repair/Restoration Costs vs. Benefits

Thanks for the thoughts. In an effort to keep the cost down and yet speed up the work, what about using a body shop for some of the work? Would they be less expensive yet more professional than a...

Repair/Restoration Costs vs. Benefits

I'm a newbie here so let me begin by apologizing for anything that might sound foolish. The SC 23 is a fantastic hull. Yet when I read the forums here I am struck by two thigs. Lots of guys here are...

Re: 1979 23 ft. Seacraft for sale (Pictures Added)

OK, everybody agrees this is a great boat at a fair price (althoug 690 hours on a two cycle engine concerns me). But is not selling. So, here is an idea: I'll go into it 50/50 with a guy in FL. Let...
