Re: Wiring question

It looks better then any of the many boats I have had. Better then my Seacraft factory wireing does after a quarter century of service.
I hope my new wireing looks that good when I am done.
I also...

Re: gill bracket ?

Hi Tris, Yea the problem tends to be in a close chop the bow will plow the wave face because the center of gravity is too far forward. The hull was designed to be a center counsel that is a bit more...

Re: gill bracket ?

Wildman, You should be fine. The bow heavy boats are the cabin forward styles. That looks like most of the work is almost done on the transom.
I have seen two boats like mine that have had weight...

Re: gill bracket ?

Even the floatation bracket changes the C/G because of the wieght of the motor.
That's why I am filling my walkaround transom and going to a bracket. In other words the boat ends up being longer and...

Re: Motor bracket

Sorry I don't know why I thought that was a 23 ft boat. It just looks that big in the picture.

Re: Motor bracket

Wow, I'm thinking maybe 3 inches then. I think your boat has almost the same balance as mine because they are both cabin models.
Does yours have any weightg in the transom?

Re: Motor bracket

I think they didn't do well because of too far forward C/G. Some had pig weight added to the stern (mine don't)

The bracket will fix that I hope :D

Motor bracket

My question is, if I am installing a 30in. bracket on the back of my 23ft Walkaround, should I raise my motor hight from the original?
How much should it be raised?

Thanks, Big Mike

I am not quite done with my boat yet. Decided to fill in the transom because I was able to buy a nice almost new Armstrong Aluminum double bracket for $300.00!
Went back to work selling CNC Machines...

Hey Strick, Did you know the DFG used to have Seacrafts as patrol boats. They would send them accross the channle in the middle of the night with just a handheld radio.

California Seacrafts

I have had several Seacraft owners come by at my place of business "Bass Pro" in Rancho Cucamonga in the last few weeks. Most are classic Potter built boats.

I have always thought that Seacraft in...

Re: wracked/crooked hull?

Bad tooling. The hull could have had the bulge since new like mine. The mold had worn out and wasn't replced in time. It may not be structural at all. My starboard side has a hollow and the port a...
