Doh! It appears I might have spoken a bit too soon. The deal has run into some complications as boat purchases often seem to do.

I think it is going to be back to craigslist and 'for sale' forum...

I'm in Marblehead. The boat is going to be on a mooring on the Marblehead side of Salem harbor.

Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what it would cost if examination proved that in fact the transom did need replacement? I am in Boston and am always flirting on and off with getting a boat....
