You are absolutely right- both sides of the bracket have pulled out some. I am going to Remove the outboard and give it a good inspection. I will post pix of what I find.

Pix of sloppy installation

It appears that they lag bolted the ends and even though they through bolted the middle there is a large seam of 5200 throughout. I am also not very happy with the cut out around the trim tabs....

I have just picked up my first seacraft . It is a 78 23 cc that was converted from a stern drive to a outboard application with an Armstrong bracket. Does anyone know if the stringer layout was...
