Bought a new fuel tank
I was going to patch my tank, it held 5 psi for 24 hours. I wire brushed it and one spot started to leak. If it was only pitted in one spot I would have taken a chance. But there were more places. So...

Coating a tank.
IMHO, coal tar epoxy has been around a long time. I'm sure there are some new products on the market. Make sure it's compatible with aluminum and will be FLEXABLE after it cures.

Removal was pretty easy.
I was able to keep steering and wiring all together by setting the console on a 4x4 and tilting it. Gave me all the room I needed to pull the tank out. Yeah, I had to look it over to see it could be...
