Re: SEACRAFT SHIPPING FROM FLORIDA TO BOSTON WANTED

I also used U-Ship to bring up a 20' MA fro South Carolina. Cost was around $650. Got several bids through that site. I highly recommend it. Bids varied considerably.

Re: Bottom Painting

Thank you. The boat will be kept in Boston around the corner from my condo so I will be down there often. Was looking through the galleries at other 20's for ideas but very few are bottom painted.

Bottom Painting

Can you apply ablative bottom paint directly over awlgrip? Well, I called awlgrip and they said I needed several coats of an epoxy barrier paint first so I guess that answers that question. I was...

Re: How to keep a 1976 20' MA from sinking at the

Roger - I was referring to the scuppers in the motor well. I used to have to plug them up because they were always under water, even sitting at the dock. I suspect that the 175 4 stroke is just too...

Re: How to keep a 1976 20' MA from sinking at the

I was planning on adding a second bilge pump. I am talking about the floor drains in the corners that drain out the bottom of the boat when its moving. None of them drain into the bilge. I have one...

How to keep a 1976 20' MA from sinking at the dock

I tried a few searches without much luck. Obviously not self bailing so what do you do when you leave them in the water? Cover? Go down when it rains and bail it? Is there an easy fix? I also want to...

Re: hydraulic Jack Plate

I had one on my 1978 20 MA with a 175 Suzuki I bought last winter. I just took it off because the transom was practically underwater. The scuppers were 3" below the waterline. Must have weighed 50...

Re: Jackplates?

I have one on MA to lift a 175 Suzuki up 5" and hate it. Hard to tell exactly what the problem is. Too much wt. in the rear from a wet transom a big engine and the additional setback from the...

Re: Splashwell scuppers

Scuppers are 2 - 3" below the waterline at rest. I did a search but could not find any info. A lot of discussion on the floor scuppers and the use of rabuds for splashwells but nothing for scuppers...

Splashwell scuppers

I finally got a chance to sea trial my 1978 20' MA. Runs like a bat out of hell with its 175 Suzuki but the engine appears too heavy for the boat. The transom is original and the boat has a jack...

Re: What goes in the crack?

One last question. In your diagram the liner went almost up to the cap. On my boat the liner only extends up around 4". The carpet is actually applied to the inside of the hull not to a liner. I will...
