Not much interest in these classics... At some point this summer, they are coming out of the barn for good and going to get scrapped if someone doesn't want them.

Re: Volvo Trim Blades

I haven't installed the ql tabs, but I did a bunch of research into the concept of an interceptor plate (which is what they are) and have installed static interceptor plates on a hull I built. From...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Denny,

I understood. Over the past year I've paid special attention to your comments regarding the bracket, especially since your have a Seafari with new power.

If the boat only needed new...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Are those numbers available? I've looked online for them and haven't found them - that is why I asked.

I know they exist, but I haven't found them.

30 inches is a place to start from, but...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Thanks Denny, I'm not so worried about the high end performance gained, but the ability to slog it out against the slop in comfort. A motor in the 150 hp range will get me all the speed I need...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Thanks Fellow-ship, I for sure don't want to stick my neck out too far! I'd like to add the bare minimum to get the flotation I'd need without creating more problems than I had.

If it hasn't been...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Thanks, I've read parts of the Mako post before, but haven't gotten through it - wow?!?!?

One question I have that you would 100% know is - what is the minimum amount of extension that can be...

Re: Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Yes thanks, I haven't measured rocker along the keel or any of the panels for that matter. My thinking without those measurements would be none as you said for the small amount of extension I'm...

Big,

I know I'm talking a major effort vs buying a bracket, but... have any thoughts on the various options otherwise?

Bracket vs hull extension vs stretch????

Hi all,

I have been lurking here a good while and been soaking it in. I have a 20’ Seafari I am planning on starting a full teardown on soon (this was Otto’s 1970 i/o). My goal for the boat is a...

Re: Seafari without windows (pics fixed)

I haven't started teh project other than buying the boat :). I will start once the weather warms up.

It will be a boat for the sound as well. I'm hoping for a 2011 launch, but it may be 2012.

Re: 21 Hull #136...Restoration...Progress Update.

Got it, I couldn't get my head around how to bed it in 5200 (or similar) and epoxy the block down. Duh, you can epoxy the blocks down and fill the void after.

I think you sold a numer of those...

Re: 21 Hull #136...Restoration...Progress Update.

That is a beautiful job and a great piece of hardware. What are you bedding the pickup in? epoxy? 5200?

Re: 1970 20' S/F Second Effort Total Refit

As far as weight, I'll have a 200# cabin forward, if that helps. I probably will go for a bracket to try to open the cockpit up as much as possible since the cabin steals quite a lot.

While I'm...

Re: 1970 20' S/F Second Effort Total Refit

Thanks, I'm real excited about trying out the Coosa. Having used lots of plywood and epoxy in the past, it seems like a Coosa is a dream come true.

The F150 is my motor of choice for my Seafari,...
