I was thinking about maybe finding a diesel engine in a boatyard or buying one to put in, or should I stick with a gas engine?

I have recently acquired a 1977 23' Sceptre SeaCraft by Potter. I have most all the parts and pieces but they aren't on the boat.. the hull has some nicks and chips in it(previous owner had it glass...

i have a '77 Spectre 23 ..its a project boat i picked up with a v-drive chevy 305.. i was wondering would it be better to keep the cuddy in the bow and rig it up like that or take it out to make it a...
