Hi,
I'm doing a new deck in my '76 SF 20. I have the old deck out and have installed a rigging tube out of PVC. Is the conventional wisdom to run wiring in the tube as well as the out board...

How do I donate to the site?

I was helped out with a bow light by OSEAD23. He suggested I donate to the site rather than pay him. Nice guy. How do I go about this?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Raising the floor

I'll likely glue up 2.5"-3" strips of 3/4" marine ply to the height and epoxy/glass them to the stringer outline. I'm thinking of glassing cleats to the back side of the sides and to alternating...

Raising the floor

Has anyone removed and reinstalled the floor in two pieces? I am going to raise 1.5"-2" so the scuppers drain out the transom. Are there tricks or less toublesome ways to accomplish the removal if...

Re: Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

Getting close to finishing removal. I'd like to replace the bilge drain plug and put it in line with the boat's center. I'd have to cut the keel support back to do this. How
structural is that...

Re: Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

Bingo!! Wood wedges and a piece of flat bar 1"x36" sharpened a little to go between the inner skin and the first (or last) plywood laminate. The wedges allowed me to see where I needed to attack.Put...

Re: Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

Do the aft cleats mechanically tie the cap and hull togehter in the corners ? I can't imagine but that seems to be the area that is resisting seperation. any thoughts?

Tim

Re: Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

Thanks fellas. I had a hunch it wasn't going to come gently. Jacks and timbers it will be. I posted this in the wrong forum. Any way to move it to Repairs/Mods? Thanks again.I'll update as I succeed.

Re: Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

How did you break the initial bond? there seems to be three, maybe more, places where the rear box mold is bonded to the inner fiberglass skin of the transom.

Cutting my '76 20 SF apart

I've made my cuts on the transom with an eye to keeping as much of the boxes and bait well intact. Any advice on how to break the "Potter Putty" free? I'm replacing the transom from the inside. Sole...

Re: Is a V6 4runner enough to pull a 20 foot seacraft?

3/17-3/21 pulled a '76 20' SF from south FL to upstate NY with a '98 4Runner 2.7 I4 5spd. Too soon old, too late smart. I wouldn't recommend it. Short hops to the ramp OK. Interstate? Nope. My .02.
