Thanks for the insight so far guys.

If I wanted to increase the height to 25", would I need to replace the entire transom? Or could the glass be ground down, plywood put in the space and then...

Ok, thanks!

My plan is to raise the deck 1.5" and have a large scupper going out each side.

The transom has been redone by a professional(guy I bought it from), but he only went back to the 20"...

You guys are outstanding, the 21 was a typo, it is a 20 with the two large foam filled stringers. I was thinking about filling the void between the hull and the liner with 2lb foam, mostly for my...

Hull Strength??

Guys, I picked up a 1974, 21' Seacraft CC with the intent on restoring it....

After I brought it home and cut out the deck, I noticed how flimsy the sides feel(From the outside)

Is this normal...

Re: And so it begins, 72' CC 20'

Ok, some of the foam has separated from the hull and the liner, I did buy some 2lb foam, I think I'll refoam it. It will at least make me feel better about it.

Thanks!

Re: And so it begins, 72' CC 20'

I did drill all the way to the fiberglass, very minimal moisture so I think it's ok.

One question, I'm walking around this thing, and the sides seem so flimsy compared to my old Aquasport. Is...

Re: And so it begins, 72' CC 20'

Ok, thanks guys.

I don't know if you can see, but the port side stringer is cracked, it looks like it was patched, but I was going to glass in heavy mat on the top.

I did drill into the...

Can you guys see the pics? I thought if I hosted them on photobucket, and used the image URL it would work.

And so it begins, 72' CC 20'

Hey guys, thanks for the advice on my real world #'s thread over in general. I wanted to start this thread, because being a newbie I'm sure I'll have 100's of questions for you. The plan is to...

Re: Real world #'s on a 20' CC with a 140 4S Suzuki?

Mark, if those #'s are 100% accurate, that seals the deal for me. I'll go with the Suzuki.

My neighbor the engineer has a twin vee with twin Zuke 140 4S that have been in tip top shape for years....

Re: Real world #'s on a 20' CC with a 140 4S Suzuki?

Great replies guys, thanks so much!

I see the Etec is more power, less moving parts and lighter. Unfortunately my wallet would be lighter by about $1,500 if I go with that. Have to check out the...

Re: Real world #'s on a 20' CC with a 140 4S Suzuki?

GREAT info SOS, thanks.

My only concern with the 175 is the extra 70lbs.

I haven't thought about a bracket, hmmm.

I was thinking about only raising the deck 1.5" sounds like I need to...

Real world #'s on a 20' CC with a 140 4S Suzuki?

Hey guys, I know a few of you have a 20' Seacraft CC with a 140 4S, Zuke. I'm looking at that motor, and the Etec. What #'s are you getting? Did you raise the deck? Any water coming in the...
