Re: Cabosil Suplier???

Sounds like you've received lots of advice, but I'll add my two cents. I use Cabosil grade PTG in my business and we buy through a distributor, Mozel Inc. 800-950-5670. The Aerosil product is...

wood stringer options

I'm having the stringers replaced in my 1986 18' Seacraft. The originals were the foam filled box type. Wear and tear caused the foam to break up inside the boxes and they lost their integrity,...

Re: stringer problem

Wow! That type of experience is what I want to avoid. I've been pushing my luck so far and I know something like that is possible if I don't get it fixed. I've been putting 5200 on the cracks for...

Re: stringer problem

Yes, it would be a shame to cut out the deck unnecessarily. However, I may have understated the "cracks". They are in the glass. As a matter of fact, water will seep from the cracks for days...

Re: stringer problem

The deck seems to be in good shape. No soft spots that I can find. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: stringer problem

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to pull the tank tomorrow and go from there.

stringer problem

I have a 1986 18' CC SeaCraft with stringer problems. The boat was orignally owned by State Marine Resources Division and they put a lot of hours on it before they sold it at auction. Their are...

Re: transom storage boxes

Thanks for responding. If you're lucky enough to find one, please pick up an extra and I'll send $. I checked into having one made by a fiberglass shop but with the mold cost, it was too expensive....

transom storage boxes

I'm looking for one of the removable trays that fit inside the hinged storage hatches on either side of the outboard on a '86, 18' Seacraft CC. They may be interchangeable, but the one I need is on...

hull cleaner

Are the fiberglass hull cleaners containing oxcylic acid safe for painted (awlgrip) surfaces? If not, what's the best product for removing that brown bay scum from a painted hull?

Re: "Working Stringer"

John,

Good Question. I guess they were speculating about the glass separation, and "yes" the boat was finished with All Grip two years ago. Thanks for your input.

"Working Stringer"

I recently purchased a 1986 18' CC SeaCraft on impulse. Regretably, I didn't inspect the hull closely before I took it home. As it turned out the hull has fractures along both sides which follow the...
