I have a 1983 23' CC that was built by CSY also. I cannot speak for what the company's reputation was, someone on here will be able to I am sure, but my 23 has treated me well so far. The ride is great and the construction is solid.I don't have a bracket, yet, but a notched transom. Wish I could tell you more, but I love mine! -Hooper
