Default Re: dry weights new 23cc vs old hulls

The 1979 23' Sceptre was rated for 600 horsepower outboard!! I saw one years ago with the twin 300 Evinrudes. Ive always done fine with a single 200 to 250. At the time I was also looking at the 26 Aquasport Family Fisherman but saw that the Seacraft was a shorter, heavier boat which could hold much more horsepower thus I figured must be a better boat. I visited the Princeton factory and saw the boats being handmade and met Bill Potter. We had to wait 8 months but we had our boat done from scratch just the way we wanted. I think the total package, boat, engine 200 Merc and trailer was around $17,000. 23 years later, new trailer and fourth engine but same boat, best decision ever made!
