Thanks for sending me the info on the Vancouver Seacraft 20 - I have been looking at the boat but the engine is shot - the hull was refurbished and not done well - the finish on the paint is really quite poor and the guys that are selling it do not have the best track record I have been told - (refurbished boats falling apart etc) this is of course hearsay and I have seen fairly decent work from them.
The problem is they have no history on the boat and they want CAD 14,500 not a penny less - that is USD 9,000 and after work and new power I am into the USD 20,000 range for a decent boat - all of which I can get out of Florida (and get a trip out of it!).
My concern is the transom - even if I bracket the boat I will not trust that transom and will have to redo it. Better to buy a complete project rather than a quasi project boat.
There is one in (20) California (not a master angler but the standard config) with an i/o which has been dry stored.
They want USD 4,000 for it - the engine / outdrive is fairly new and I can probably get a season out of it and then bracket / redo the transom (which would already be closed).
I will let you know how I get on - thanks for keeping me informed.
Rgds
