John - I think what you heard was that Bomb was rebadging the Susuzki 4 strokes as Johnsons to compensate for their corporate emmissions ratings.
All those (or at least the bigger ones ) pretty white 4 stroke Johnsons are Suzukis.
The few people I know that have the 4 strokes love them. And a lot of the commercial guys here on the bay have switched to them too. They enjoy a pretty good rep here in the NE ...
