thanks for the reply chuck. my friend gave me a jensen marine head unit and i've got a alpine 60watt 2 channel amp in the basement, so i think I might spend the extra money on some good speakers. i need to find out it my head unit can handle two amps or if i need to pick up a passive cross-over. 4 speakers would be nice, but i think i'll start with 2.
