Default Wet Transom

Need some guidance ... I have a 1976 Seacraft ... I have replaced all of the original plywood coring in the hatches. I had a sneeking suspicion that my transom was also wet and confirmed it this afternoon. Using a hole saw, I cut a couple of holes on the inside of the transom to reveal the plywood coring. The inner fiberglass skin had good adhesion to the plywood and the plywood was still sound but it was completely saturated. The boat is an inboard so the transom does not get loaded that heavily. I would prefer not rebuilding the transom ... any ideas to dry out the coring? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mike
