Default Re: Extra seating on 23

Tarpon Tom,
I have thought about making an integrated folding bench seat using or replacing the splashwell panel. I don't know if I would create a new splash panel or reuse the existing one. I might make them so they could be easily exchanged, 1 for seating/crusing, the other for off-shore. I don't think the existing spashwell panel I have in my boat would stand up to the weight of 2 adults bouncing on it. Right now I use the cooler against the back, but I wish there was a back rest for safety/comfort. They make folding jump seats that mount to the gunnel, and are removable. I also am looking at possibly using a center console seat with the folding back rest against the splash well. The fish box/seat would be helpful, and I could slide it forward when we stopped and bottom fished. I really don't want to put any more weight permanetly on the back of my boat. Another option is a pair of heavy constructed folding deck chairs, that could be stored in the cabin if the standup fishing room is needed. I'm afraid that the legs moving around would chew up the floor though. Somebody, somewhere, must have seen some neat seating arrangements. Let us know what you saw???
