Default Re: Are twin 150's to much

I have twin 200 Mercury EFI's on a Stainless Marine Floatation bracket on my 23' 1975 cc. Mine sits fine but I have an additional gas tank forward of the console that helps with the balance. If your bracket has a floatation chamber then I think you might be alright. I know that some 150 hp engines weigh as much as the 200's do. Before I added the other tank it sat a little low in the stern but it was never a problem. The deck drains didn't allow water in unless two of us were in the back before the additional weight up front but now it is not an issue at all. Twin 150s will be plenty of power and push the boat real well. 200s are a little overkill but the boat came with the motors. Good Luck!!
