I have a Furuno 582 color lcd with a dual frequence transducer and love it. I did do a lot of research on sounders before buying it and are glad that i did. You can read it in daylight and it marks fish very well.I was turned on to it while fishing on a buddys boat at the bb bouy a year ago. He has the 582 and the northstar 962 with sounder and perfers the 582. (Northstar does all of there r+d on his boat so he gets all the new toys for nothing) But I do know for a fact that the engineers for northstar were blown away buy it and decided to come out with something similar.
