I have a bunch of those rigs from our last trip to the chesapeake. HUGE good looking rigs, excactly as you describe.

Devils Fiddle and myself made a northern rendition and it produces now with live/fresh dead herring.

I have yet to try the raw chesapeake rigs here as of yet because herring seem to be the best way now and I am a beliver in: if it ain't broke don't fix it. When (if) it slows down I will try some of the chesapeake rigs. I have a sneeking suspicion they may be productive.
