Re: BORED Straight Flush !
Hmmm, maybe but I dont think so Brad, they feed primarily on large menhaden, eels etc, The prefered method of trolling here is as slow as she goes, maybe 2.5 knots the ideal speed. Early in the season , now till x-mas you will mostly find the larger fish down deep(mostly because of the large numbers of boats persuing them keeping them down). When you find them on top later in the season-January to about the middle of Feb depending on water temperature, they will be in the upper part of the water column. Funny thing about it , you are subject to catching a flounder or a 200 lb bluefin 1/2 mile off the beach!!(up too 3 miles out is the current max federal eez limit) Large swimming plugs as well as bucktails (bugeye 3/8 oz with strip of porkrind also work well) A lot of people love the Manns "stretch" series, 25's and 30's. I wont pull them, they are dangerous(fly at you when they pop out of the water) and they love to tangle the rest of your lines while deployed.I havnt seen any of the style lures you show being used although I have given thought to pulling a green machine and/or a nekkid balyhoo just for $hits and giggles to see if they will work.
