Default Alan's 23 Tsunami - getting wet

Alan's 23 Tsunami

Well, it has been a looooooong haul - 14 months ! The new motor has been in for a month ( a Mercruiser 5.7, 300 HP, fresh H20 cooled, FI ) and the new Bravo III drive went on today. She is ready to get wet, today or tomorrow for sure ! Then I'll get all the 'kinks' out and complete the odds and ends ( and there are still a lot of 'em ). I am really numb w/ the fact that I am "here", and that all that damn work is about to pay off. I look at the boat and realize that I have touched every single part of it. I found myself staring at every little spot, and thinking "Holy Sh_t !", it's done ! And also knowing that no one - NO ONE! could appreciate the work involved ( except for someone who has been there ). I could try to explain it all, but the words will always fall short -

I tell you, having a vision and seeing it through is very rewarding. I've done it many times and hope to continue doing it. However, having 'tunnel vison' is another thing entirely. I don't think I am up for another project like this for awhile.

I'm spent !

Very time consuming; mentally and physically. I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor for many years now. She came out the way I wanted. I did not cut one corner - ever, and I have a real eye-catching, QUALITY! boat that other than the hull being a 1975 - is brand new in every conceiveable way !

I'll let you all know how her maiden voyage goes.

- Alan
