With the 88 spl I get a 30mph cruise and 34mph at wot (GPS numbers)The boat had a Rude 115 on it (1975) and I ran it up to 4 years ago. The 88 and the 115 are the same motor, with the change in rating due to the years it was a dead even swap. I could get more out of her without the top and gear. I'm happy with the way it runs because I'm running in that 3/4 range all the time, which is best for 2 strokes....

David.. dosen't all that weight up front make her bow heavy? When it's rough out it does ride better with the bow down but when it's smooth, she'll realy ride with the bow up and the motor trimed all the way out..
