Those poling platforms are also on the Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman's as well as a few other boats in which the designer had to have had zero poling experience to expect it to work.
I used to have a SeaCraft 18' and the notion that you could pole that boat, or that it was shallow draft compared to a flats boat is a stretch: it's an A$$ heavy boat like all the other SeaCraft CC's.
The only boats that I have successfully poled are nearly a thousand pounds lighter than an SC18' and have a lot less freeboard (Hells Bay's, Silver King's, etc).
I think there were photos on here a year or so ago of a 20' that someone cut the sides down on and made it into a "backcountry" boat but I wasn't under the impression that any factory versions were ever made [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
