I agree with "FellowShip" I didn't have one on my '78 either
I use the engine ground but Ken's idea of the SeaCock sounds cool!
You can always wrap a 12 ga wire around your big toe and hang it over the side while your trolling. I think at that point electrolosis would be your only concern
