One issue you will have with the transom rebuild is the size of that new motor.
Hear me out a second.
From what I can see that is a 20" inch shaft OB. If you invest the money in a transom rebuild you must go with a 25" transom. The reason for this is "do it right the first time" the last thing you want on an older 20SF is a low transom expecially with that model as the floor is low to begin with. Back in the 70's 20" shaft OB's were the norm. Today it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a 20" shaft.
The kicker with this boat is it seems to have a new(er) 20" shaft 150. what to do......
I would get your purchase price way down, a transom rebuild will cost 2K min ( to have it done right) then buy a 5" extension for your OB approx $750.
Do not pay top dollar for that boat because it has a newer t0top and outboard. Who ever repowered that boat should of redone the transom before slapping a new outboard on it.
