Re: how much power do I need?
fishtale,
I'm running an '02 carbed Merc. 150 on my 1985 20' Grady CC, which I believe is a few hundred pounds heavier than the 20' SeaCraft. Especially, since she's not so dry anymore. At 3600, I'm burning 6.5 gal/hr and making about 24 mph. At 4000, I'm burning 7.5 gal/hr and making about 28 mph. She spins up to 5400 in the summer and gives me just about 40 mph. Can't tell you what I burn at WOT cause I never look at the Navman then.
Every once in a while, I wish I had more power, but there aren't many opportunities when I'd actually get to use it.
The carbed Merc. 150 is a great little motor.
