Default Re: not a seacraft but still a deep V

Here is an interim shot showing some of the light sanding and bodywork I did when I replaced the salon bulkhead, built a swing door, and flush mounted/glassed in the freezer and bait prep station;

This shows the color scheme as well, probably should have glassed in the side portlights to truly modernize the hull, but the amount of work huge, and if we ever lose A/C its nice to have opening ports;

This is a full rear view showing the new 1/2 tower, riggers, bluewater helm chairs, bluewater 130# chair, and new rail...

The engines are 871tis, I will shoot some pics in the engine room, but basically its been gutted, faired, primed, and awlgripped the same snow white. Engines were painted snow white and entire boat re-wired. The rebuild included Airseps, airbox checkvalves, rebuilt trannys, bigger injectors/turbos, modern valvecovers, and all new engine harnesses/controls in 12V. I gained about 2 knots, but that includes prop work, bottom job, alignment, and the increased hp from the engines (435 to 485 / side). Cruise is 20-21 knots at 2050rpms. The Mathers Microcommanders got a new computer board with a synchro module which also helps efficiency. at cruise I burn 38 gallons/hour almost regardless of how much fuel/water is aboard. Fuel is 630 gallons, water is 300, but I have a 600 gallon/day watermaker so I never carry more than 100 gallons. With the watermaker we can do bahamas trips and wash the boat ea. day regardless of where we are.

The interior is coming along slowly, gutted that as well, all new custom hand-built cabinets. The panels are all high-gloss maple, with cherry accents. Countertops are granite/corian with rimless corian sinks. Here is a shot of the entertainment center - 32" plasma flatscreen that can receive output from Navnet. You can use the Navnet IR remote and switch from radar to fishfinder to plotter and have it show up on the big screen or you can reverse and import the DVD or video signal into any of the Navnet screens on the bridge or the cockpit. There is a repeater in the cockpit and a set of engine controls on the stbd side bait prep station- I can bait fish or run the boat fromt he cockpit and see the fishfinder. On swordfish drifts, we can mark progress in the cockpit and chase the fish around backwards without going up top - good for shorthanded....

Answers, the boat is a '74, and I am the 2nd owner. Generaider and I both know the first owner and have known the boats local history since almost when it was new. Engines had 5000 hours on them when I acquired the boat 13 months ago. We ran it for 3 months to see what we liked, and then started in on the project last Fall. I still had the yellow boat to fish/play while working on this one, and will keep both. The whitewater has 2000 hrs on it now....

Couldn't name the boat after any one single girl in the life, so...MArissa, SArah, DAna. 2 daughters and wife. reverse age order. IT means something else, but I forget...
