Seems like I may have found the culprit - loose and/or dirty battery connections. Although to the touch they didn't seem real loose, I guess they were loose enough to cause an issue. However, as I slowed down entering the river back to my mooring, the engine exhibited the problem again around 3000 rpm. I throttled back up, then down again and it did it again. Right after it happened, I checked the fuel bulb and it was soft. Perhaps I have poor fuel flow too?
