Re: Teak Options
If you would like a deep rich color, and rather maintance free for awhile. You start with bare teak and apply 3 or 4 coats of West System using 207 hardener, washing and lightly sanding between coats.Let that stand for 4 or 5 days, then apply 8 to 10 coats of clear Awlgrip(AwlBrite Plus),3006 coverter and A0031 brushing activator.Just be sure to mix the West System by stiring very slowly so there are no air bubbles and do the application in the shade. The Awlgrip brushes very nicely. You should use very thin coats, you can easily put on 3 coats a day and there is no need to sand between coats unless you have a blemish to get out or you have gone 36 hrs between coats. There are pictures of my skiff on the site here that I used this application that you can check to see if you like the color.
