Running in Both or batteries in parallel is asking for a problem.
If one battery has a short in one cell, it will pull the other battery down to try and equilize the 2 batteries.
So the bottom line is that backup battery will do you no good,as you will have 2 dead batteries.

Only use "Both" on the switch for an emergency.
