Right now currently I am running a 4 cylinder Yamaha 130hp 2 stroke. I have topped the boat out at 36mph and a fair cruising speed of about 25-27mph. I can strain off the slop from the top on a rough day doing about 18 also.

I know a few people with Mercury Optimax's and of the 5 people I know, 4 of them had engine problems and were off the water for a whole season. That kind of scares me. One of the problems a good friend of mine had was a cracked head. Brand new Engine to.

I fish off of the Vineyard and Nantucket and we had an incredible season this year, catching everything from Stripers and Blues, to Falsies and Bonito. My buddy has a 2001 20 Foot Classic and his is set up for Tuna fishing. We hooked up a couple times with schoolis in Cape Cod Bay off of that. Right now I am lookg towards next season. Cannot wait. Until then Ill continue being a boat slavew for whoever will let me on.
