Fishing in this area is bad to lousy right now. A few salmon on the outside of San Juan Island, so you have to be willing travel 35-40 miles to have a chance for (1) one fish. I was out w/couple friends yesterday, not even a bite for salmon and all we caught were a couple of sand sharks(dogfish) and a few small Lingcod, which you cannot keep. If one wants salmon, you have to travel up into Britsh Columbia, Canada. They manage thier fishery so much better than WA state could even dream about. If one wanted to catch humpies,(pink salmon) then the Everett area 80 miles south of us has a few, but I would not waste a gallon of gas to get one, they are just a junk fish, the roe (eggs) are worth more than the fish.
