Re: Inboard?
The inboards are great and give an excellent ride and are great to fish from, but they aren't speedsters. I cruise at 22-24 knots at around 3400 RPM with a brand new 350. As knot working mentioned they can be challenging at the dock. I increased the rudder size for better tracking in reverse and actually enjoy the challenges of docking a single screw inboard.
There's not a huge call in the market for small center console straight inboards and not many makers that produce them. They ride and run differently from an outboard boat and I would suggest hitching a ride on one before purchasing. I have a Wellcraft center console that's much faster that I take out on smooth days if I am fishing a far distance, but if there's gonna be be a decent chop I take the Seacraft.
