The 140 2 stroke Suzy's are good engines. They have a weak spot, however. Never, never run anything but the very best oil in them. Absolutely no K-mart / Walmart oil.
That's good advice for any 2 stroke engine, however.
By the way, I love, not like, love the reliability of Tohatsu/Nissan engines. It's hard to find a used one, however, and I can't afford a new one.
As far as oil goes, Suzuki oil and Mercury oil both are the same formulation, and they both are (or at least used to be) made by Texaco/Chevron in the US.
Yamaha 2 stroke oil is made by several companies, but mostly by Esso, and, I think, by Mobil.
Evinrude/Johnson oil was made by Ashland oil in the 80's, I don't know who Bombardier get it from now.

Stick w/ the good stuff.
