Re: There Talking About Our Boats
I have had to think about this issue more than once, and I have shied away from saying much because I have truly enjoyed all the good times here not wanting to ruffle up any of my buddies feathers. Shoot, if it wasn’t for Trader I would probably be doing work instead of talking about boats right now. BUT FOR ME, I enjoy everyone conversation about SeaCrafts no matter how old or new they are, I appreciate their decision to get one of them, no matter what ever they could find and afford, new or old already fixed up or going to do the work themselves or are going to spend the $$ to get fixed up by a pro. or even buying a new one because of no time or talent to go through the process themselves. I LOVE THE FUNDAMENTAL HULL DESIGN that has really never changed through all the years. Yes, I got a 76 23 Potter CC SF and Very Proud of it I looked long and hard for mine, but you know, there aren’t many around to find, and most guys that have them aren’t going to give them up very soon. So what is a guy going to do??? Sit at the beach or bar and hope one day he will find one “or” GET WHAT HE CAN fix what needs to be fixed and get on with having fun with their boat and enjoy life. Personally, for me (please don’t stone me) I think we should be seeing the common thread of what we have in common in these boats not the differences no matter how new or old they are. I would rather commend someone on what they got than directly or indirectly suggest that their boat is inferior to mine and they need to get in line with some sort of pecking order that has been established. Some one pass me a Bud and remember the pecking order is My Boat then everyone else’s no matter what you got.
