Re: 1986 Seacraft 23' - question
Scott,
The prior owners kept her in pretty good shape, but I did spend some time cleaning up and doing some minor improvements. Aside from removing, stripping and oiling all the teak, I had a soft spot on the bow deck that I had to repair prior to the installation of a Horizon electric windlass. This caused me to have to paint the entire topside. I installed new nav lights, bilge pumps, all deck hardware removed, replaced and re-set, new deck lights, repaired the teak swim platform, rewired the battery cables, and changed everything you should on the diesel engine.
I use the boat mainly for cruising and raft-ups with friends. I am a diver and Bermuda is not short on wrecks and reefs. I use it for inland reef fishing and have ventured offshore only a couple of times so far where Wahoo, Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna and Dolphin, are all in abundance. She is well equipped for fishing with outriggers and downriggers for trolling the outer reef lines. I am still getting use to operating these but getting better.
