I have done a fair share of moving boat parts around and that bow rail should not nesesitate cutting or the hassle of towing your boat to his place.

The aft end of the rail should be able to come together and then tie it (they are pretty flexible).This will make the width of the rail much less than 8 feet. Get (2) 2x4's and screw the rail bases to them. now you just made a roof rack with the rail on it. Put it on the roof and off you go...
