My 23 was purchased from Don Johnson, who commuted from Stuart (not far from Capt. Chuck) to Miami to shoot the episodes of Miami Vice. He bought it new and put 1500 hours on the twin 250 HP Yamahas before sinking her 15 miles offshore Boca during the "Smuggler's Blues" episode, with Glenn Frey on board. They were saved by Tubbs in his new Wellcraft 38' Scarab KV in a scene that was left on the cutting room floor. She was towed to Miami and stored for many years. I found her at the Dania Marine Flea Market in 2002 for $500.
She is in the final stages of a 3 year renovation - images to be sent soon.
Oh, I'm sorry, you did say "fantastic story", right?
