The decision not to go throught that inlet when the tide is going out and swells are coming from the northeast seems much too difficult for many boaters. I have sailed a Sunfish in and out of that inlet in the right conditions. Palm Beach Inlet at least has the depth to not have surfable waves well inside the jetty.
