I have a 1983 23' CC and I also needed to repower.

Weight was the #1 issue with me. I was very uncomfortable with the idea of a 4 banger sitting back there. I went with a 2003 Evinrude 225 and I am glad I did. When I have a couple guys standing in the cockpit fishing I am glad I don't have the added weight.

Others are happy tho, so I guess it is all in what you can live with. I slept better with the lower weight.
