Default Re: Flat-line clip placement

Hmmm. You Fla. guys are so damn lucky with the fishing ! Mahi season ?! My boat is still covered and the first game fish here are 'lil flounder and in a while, striped bass season. The water is in the mid to hi 40's.

However, I am planning on doing some Mahi fishing in August when the Gulf Stream swings far enough North to bring some of the tropical waters within a 10-20 miles of shore ( sometimes some fingers of the Stream come right to shore )

I digress. I have thought of setting up a rig as mentioned and am new to the idea. A few questions.

You attach the "pelican hook" w/ the cable to ski/tow hook then do you have to mount the release clip to the transom under water somewhere ? - to keep the line and lure just under water ? Do I have this right ? Having a full-transom swim platform, how could I use a similar set-up ?

Thx
