boat8, I haven't been on csc long enough to know anyone in that part of FL. Hopefully someone will check out this thread who does.
strick, I plan to cut the hatch and baitwell covers directly from the top of the transom cap. The baitwell and storage boxes are glassed to the bottom, with no opening through the cap yet. This way, they will be a perfect match.
Here are some more pictures to show what I'm doing before the floor goes back in.
The original console was the large one with a door up front and a box in the floor for an optional head. I'm probably going to build a completely new console since it's in pretty rough shape. I've also removed the large box in the floor under the console in order to get a larger fuel tank and a battery box under part of the new console.
The new laminated platform for the fuel tank is being glassed to place.
The beginnings of the battery box.
Once the battery box was initially laid up, we decided the extra room could be used to add a small (7 Gal.) wash down tank. On top of the fresh water tank is a macerator pump that wiil be used to de-spooge the in-floor box which is just in front of the console (it has obviously been removed in these pictures).
Here is another picture after priming. The macerator pump has been removed.
Pictures of the fuel tank in my next post.
