I changed my e-mail and I just updated it in my profile. That may have been the problem. Tap the tramsom with the blunt end of a screw driver starting from the bottom and go up. Compare the sound in several different places.If it sounds hollow then the transom is in need of some work. The deck should be solid everywere you walk. Inspect the underside of the hatches and deck cap for signs of rot. everywere there is a screw or bolt is a potential place for water to get into and mess up the wood. If you can send us some pics of the boat close ups etc then we can help you make an educated decision as to it's quality.
