Default Re: A New Boat to Check Out

Here are some pictures of the scupper set up. It's designed to minimize the number of holes through the hull. The actual scupper tubes were molded and epoxied into place. A drain pipe for the baitwell is seen.

The transom was ground from the outside, so that the tube could be glassed back over and cut out, basically making it an integral part of the transom.

PVC drain lines were molded with a heat gun and epoxied into the scupper tubes. Both the tubes and drain lines are angled so that nothing flows into the boat. Seen here are drains for the baitwell, the port side bilge pump, the forward in-floor fishbox, and the port side insulated storage box in the transom cap.

Here are both sides with the drains epoxied into the scupper tubes. Note that the entire cap has been removed in this picture.

A view from the outside of the port side scupper. The transom has been glassed and initially faired, and the drain lines are visible as they enter into the scupper tube. Fairing still needs to be done where each drain line joins the tube.
