There's a few of us here with the 20 Seafari but most are OB's. Mine has the original Mercruiser 140 but has been rebuilt twice. Now it's seized up and may be replaced by a new machine, maybe even a Volvo D3-160 if I can scrounge up enough money for it. If not it will probably be a Mercruiser or Volvo 135hp setup.

When it ran it gave about 31 mph at 4500 rpm which is plenty fast most of the time. Economy wasn't that great since it's a 1970 engine, I imagine the newer technology engines will be a lot more economical. She navigates really well and is a proven fish raiser.

There are a couple of them for sale but with OB's. I don't know exactly how they run but I imagine they'll be a bit faster but I agree with you, you can't beat the lines on the I/O!

Mine's been restored and has a newer transom (in 1999)and stringers. It just needs to have the under gunnel inside panels replaced (they're made of plywood and is delaminating under the sun) and a bit of paint. She's sitting on a 3 year old aluminum tandem axle Continental trailer in great shape. If you're interested I may part with her for the right price since it's going to be a long time before I can repower her and I don't want her to deteriorate too much while waiting for a new engine.

You can see her at the gallery and send me a PM if you're interested.

Trayder, since this became an indirect sales pitch if he takes it I'll donate the $25 ASAP.
