YOWZAA !!! What a day !!
Packed the boat and hitched the trailer fri nite, left NH at 5:30, arrived at Sandwich Marina around 8, after stopping to gas the boat - and forgetting to get ice - what a bummer. Met Scott and his dad at the ramp, they had already launched and were preparing to head out.
Went over towards Barnstable, did a little fishing out by the fingers, saw the light blue Seafari that's shown on the site in the past, picked up one bluefish, had one breakoff, took the rig with him.
Called Scott on the VHF, he said he was up mid bay, so headed up that way, got to fishermans ledge, fished a bit, didn't see anyone, but it was FAC and could clearly see P-Town, so headed up that way.
Up by P-town, fished race point and was picking off blues one after another - had a gas. Thought I'd seen chance's blue 23 with the doghouse, so called him on the radio - turns out there was a bunch of folk up in the area, some inside and some outside chasing tuna. about noon I hooked up with Chance on Osprey, and we cruised back down the bay towards Barnstable. Halfway down the bay a good chop had come up, I had to back down my seafari to about 19 mph, Chance's 23 inboard just crushed the chop and he went on ahead.
Met up with everybody down at Barnstable harbor, finally getting a chance to meet some of you guys. Some of these boats are so well done, they look like they just came off the showroom floor - just Awesome, compared to my rat.
Thanks to Trayder for the dogs and burgers, and to all for a great day, and for getting me off my ass and down to some new, and more easily accessible waters, than I thought.
Thanks for a great day !!
Bill
