Default Re: Foam Filled Stringer Grids

Ha Kevin;

The wood on top of the stringers is for the guys that have decided to raze the deck up a few inches due to the Seacrafts decks on the smaller boats seemed to be just a little to low for draining water through the scuppers properly. In this way the deck is supported all through the boat by resting on the raised stringer system.

As to Strick he will probably catch this thread and set you up with pictures. But he used 2 by 8” I think and glued them together then used them as a reverse mold to build his stringers from. He did a fantastic job on his entire boat making molds like you would on original boat building to form his work and then pop out the glass fabricated piece to mount in his boat. He even did his own engine bracket this way. I am still marveling about that one. If I had tried that it would have taken me 10 times of practice until I did one correctly.
